Restoration continues through Sunday, 3/26

Strong thunderstorms moved through SWEPCO’s East Texas and Louisiana service areas Friday night (March 24). At 10:45am there are 11,000 customers without power. Hardest hit areas are Marshall and Carthage Texas, and Vivian, Haughton, Many, Mansfield and Natchitoches, La.

Estimated times of restoration are:
Vivian: 9pm 3/25; Haughton: 5pm 3/25; Logansport: 5pm 3/25; Hornbeck: 11:59pm 3/25; Natchitoches: noon 3/26; Mansfield: noon 3/26; Marshall: 10pm 3/26; Carthage/Tatum: 10pm 3/25

SWEPCO Restoring Power in Valley

Storms with high winds moved through SWEPCO’s Louisiana service area, impacting a peak of 14,000 customers at 2 a.m. Friday, May 27. Hardest hit is the company’s Valley District, where 6,000 customers were out of power at the peak of the storms at 1 a.m. in the Hornbeck area, and 4,000 were out of electricity in the Natchitoches area at the peak of 5 a.m. Friday.

Severe storms pound Texarkana area Monday night

(1:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 10) Severe storms with high winds and tornado-like activity roared through the I-30 corridor near Texarkana Monday night, causing a peak of 10,000 outages by 11:59 p.m. Monday night, May 9. As of 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, there were 7,500 customers without power, including 5,000 on damaged circuits out of the Richmond Road Substation.
