Discovery Place Interactive Museum in Texarkana hosted a free day of play on July 28 compliments of SWEPCO.
The SWEPCO Sunday Funday allowed visitors to experience museum exhibits free of charge, including its 1 million-volt dual Tesla Coils. This caged lighting display moves to the rhythm of some favorite musical tunes such as “The Lone Ranger.”
Nikola Tesla invented the Tesla Coil ā an air-core transformer for high frequency alternating or oscillating electrical currents ā in 1891. The invention, among other things, allowed for the wireless transmission of electricity.
