Severe storms swept through East Texas on Sunday, May 28, triggering two tornadoes in Longview that knocked out power to more than 65,000 customers in the city. SWEPCO company and contract crews went to work to clear downed trees to repair damaged poles, cross-arms, wire and transformers. All customers who could take power were back on by June 3.
