Record number of employees participate in United Way Day of Caring

Five agencies in Shreveport-Bossier received help from SWEPCO during annual event

Fifty one SWEPCO employees divided into five teams and volunteered their time for the 2017 United Way Day of Caring event May 12.

Team Leaders Jason Dipley, Patty Bonner, Henry A Brown, Kimberly Calhoun and Twila Griffin led teams at Geaux 4 Kids, Inc., Catholic Charities of N LA, Hope Connections, Renzi Education & Art Center, and the Renesting Project, Inc., respectively.

Associate Coordinator of External Affairs Betsy Warren said this year saw a record number of employee participants. Employees were coordinated by Sr. Administrative Assistant Twila Griffin.

“I hope it helped everyone see first-hand some of the many worthwhile projects supported by United Way,” said Warren.

The United Way of Northwest Louisiana reaches 75,000 people in the areas of education, financial services, health and essential needs in 10 parishes. SWEPCO is a Diamond Award Winner, raising the most dollars in the area at companies with more than 250 employees.
