SWEPCO responds to tornado damage in Fruitvale, Texas area

A tornado damaged SWEPCO facilities in the Mineola and Fruitvale areas of East Texas on April 29.

There was a peak of 84 total company and contract personnel dedicated to tornado response recovery Sunday. The Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR) for 95 percent of customers who can take power (no weatherhead damage) has been changed to 10 p.m. Monday, May 1. This is 24 hours earlier than previously reported Sunday since SWEPCO and contract crews are making steady progress replacing damaged poles and equipment.

The peak of outages in the Mineola/Fruitvale area was 1,414 at 2:00 am Sunday. On Monday, there are 689 customers without power.
