As Veterans Day approaches, the SWEPCO MVERG (Military Veterans Employee Resource Group) wants to honor some of its own veteran heroes.
We start off with a salute to McEntry Dunbar, field revenue service supervisor in Shreveport, who retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserves August 11 after almost 31 years of service. Mac obtained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and served as the Superintendent of Weapon Safety for the 442nd Fighter Wing in Knob Noster, Mo.
Remarks from Mac:
“I felt privileged to have the responsibility of serving this great country. I got to see first hand why we were doing what we did to keep this country safe. The respect we received while in uniform was overwhelming. I really appreciate this country and how it acknowledges veterans.
I lot of sacrifices are made by military personnel. I missed a lot of events that involved my children. They didn’t understand when they were young but they do now. But it’s what we do to protect our citizens. I loved the military and didn’t want to leave. I stayed in as long as they let me. I don’t and never will regret my time in the service.”
“It gives me great pleasure to congratulate Mac on his years of service to our country on his retirement from the military,” said Henry Brown, manager of meter revenue operations for SWEPCO, who presented a special award to Mac at work from the MRO group. “Your service comes at a considerable sacrifice and commitment for you and your family. I’m grateful to you for your willingness to serve.”
